ABOUT TAMMY
Tammy’s first camera was a gift from her parents when she was a young teen. They thought it vital to expose their children to the wonders of art and nature. Since then, she has enjoyed the challenge of using composition and light to express the beauty of the world around us from lush landscapes and sunrises to the vibrant colors of flowers and insects, and everything in between those macro and micro views.
Living in coastal South Carolina, Tammy is surrounded by inspiration. Her favorite subjects to shoot include marshes, swamps, the ocean, water birds, songbirds, community and backyard gardens, pollinators and architecture. Her favorite places to photograph are city, county, and state parks, as well as National Wildlife Refuges, National Parks and Audubon sanctuaries. In addition to coastal scenery, she also captures mountains and waterfalls, bringing different flora and fauna to the mix.
A member of the Carolinas Nature Photographers Association, Tammy continues to hone her craft, stretch her technical skills, and build a portfolio while working full-time in community and economic development. One fun joining of the personal and professional worlds has been several recent opportunities to shoot workplaces for friends, including welding, heavy manufacturing, and hospitality.
