FUN WITH FLOWERS

Stormy or hot, buggy summer days lend themselves to experimenting with a light box indoors. Add some digital darkroom work and it becomes a play day!

The chrysanthemum series began with a white flower on a white background and very bright light. "Diamonds" is the original photograph. The rest are the result of playing with new-to-me ways to create color in post-production.

 

Also using a light box, the gerbera daisy series begins with a very symmetrical flower, the first shown in monochrome to mimic an x-ray and highlight its features. The subsequent images add whimsy with neon color, inspired by Andy Warhol.
